WHO WE ARE
We are a group of licensed and pre-licensed mental health practitioners offering smart, savvy and affirming therapy in Long Beach, CA. Our practice is defined by shared values surrounding queer-positive and trans-affirming care, sex- and body-positivity, and a commitment to dismantling internalized oppressions and confronting privilege and power in the therapeutic relationship. Rooted in feminism, social justice and intersectionality, we are working to offer competent, contemporary and informed mental healthcare within our community.

MONICA PROVENCE, MA LMFT
Licensed Therapist & Clinical Supervisor
I hope to create therapeutic relationships that encourage my clients to process and fully experience emotions, move through depression and anxiety, and re-frame negative thoughts and patterns with a deeper understanding of their origins. Together, we engage bravely (and playfully) with unexamined thoughts, feelings and experiences!
I work with individuals, couples and families on topics including sexual identity, coming out, non-traditional relationships and families, polyamory and negotiating ethical non-monogamy, BDSM and D/s relationships. I have a passion for working with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, genderqueer and non-binary individuals & their loved ones.
TIFFANY HOOTON, M.S., AMFT, APCC
My approach to therapy is humanistic, gender-affirming, and incorporates elements of cognitive and narrative therapies to challenge unhelpful patterns. My specialty areas include working with LGBTQ individuals and their partners as they navigate identity, transition, and relationship issues.
Above all, I value my client’s story and believe in their capacity to overcome the obstacles thrown at them. If you are looking for a therapist who is queer- and trans-affirming and sex worker-allied, feel welcome to contact me for a free consultation and we can begin the path of healing together.
JAMES GREEN MS, AMFT
I'm a Queer, Gay, Black and Mexican Associate registered Marriage and Family Therapist, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and a Humanistic therapist. My experience is in complex trauma, domestic and community violence, and toxic stress, and I bring my anti-racist, feminist, and queer lens to my work with others.
You may be going through a stressful moment in your life. You may have had some complex trauma occur in your past. Or you may have a teen who is experiencing some mental health difficulties. Maybe you're a queer person of color and are looking for someone who may have more in common with you to help you through your challenges. Whether you are looking for a space to feel supported and discuss your trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship, life goals, or to simply feel seen, I may be the therapist for you.
KRISTI STARNES, MA, AMFT
I believe that people have inside them the wisdom they seek; they might just need some guidance to help discover it. My approach is friendly, collaborative, and attentive to your individual situation. I help clients sit in the not knowing, and explore how their past informs their present. I can help you differentiate between thoughts, feelings, and sensations, and to live a life you enjoy living. Whether it is depression, anxiety, or a big life transition, my intention is to create a space where it is safe for you to explore any thought or feeling you may have. Therapy can provide a person with great insight, meaning, and relief.
